Digging, Dialogue & Diversity

For Chaplains in Higher Education - La Trobe University Bendigo 11th to 15th July 2016

The International Association of Chaplains in Higher Eduction (IACHE) is the international professional association for Chaplains of all faiths in Higher Education.  Every 4 years a Global Conference is held in a different part of the world, co-ordinated by one of the founding member associations of IACHE.

In 2016 the Global Conference will be jointly co-ordinated by the Tertiary Campus Ministry Association of Australia (TCMA) and the Aotearoa New Zealand Tertiary Chaplains Association (ANZTCA).

In 2016 the Global Conference will be held in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.  Bendigo is a major regional city within the state of Victoria and is located approximately 1 and a half hours drive from CBD Melbourne.

Bendigo is rich in its history, particularly in regards to the Gold Rush, as well as rich in its different cultures.  There is lots to see and do in Bendigo, and it is also a great place to begin a look at Australia.  The Bendigo Visitors Centre is a perfect place to start your journey and see what is on offer.

Bendigo is a historic gold mining city and you are invited to dig, delve and discover gold in ancient wisdom and contemporary practice.  It is a great opportunity to share with other chaplains from around the world and together dig to discover the gold each of us brings to chaplaincy.   We invite you to DIG.

Discussion, discourse and deep conversations about life and ministry, theory and practice will be central to the Bendigo experience. We invite you to DIALOGUE.

Our tertiary institutions provide for different faiths, different cultures and different understandings of the world. These will be richly represented in Bendigo. We invite you to DIVERSITY.
